This project in Haar presented a particular challenge: its location directly behind a striking tree right on the property line. The result is a modern tool shed that creates a fascinating visual contrast to the classic wooden hut in the background. While conventional wooden structures require regular maintenance and painting, this solution impresses with its completely maintenance-free HPL façade. A direct comparison clearly shows the change in garden architecture – away from high-maintenance temporary structures and towards durable design objects that can withstand wind and weather in the long term.
The true strength of this tailor-made solution lies in the details of the planning. In order to make optimum use of the space between the building and the fence, the house was positioned so that a sheltered niche for storing firewood was created on the left-hand side. The interior was also planned with foresight: the sliding door is offset by 50 cm to create sufficient space behind the wall segment for a deep shelving system. This consistent consideration of future use ensures that every square metre is used efficiently and that the garden cube can be kept tidy with ease.
No impregnating, sanding or painting - never again thanks to HPL!
