This spacious roof terrace in Aachen is completely exposed to wind and weather. As there is no roofing, rain and storms hit the furniture without any protection. Under these conditions, a completely waterproof storage space is essential to keep the cushions on the garden furniture dry. While conventional solutions often fail in the face of standing water or driving rain, the interior of this cabinet remains permanently dry and dust-free. This means that even in the event of a sudden change in the weather, the high-quality textiles can be safely stowed away in just a few simple steps without moisture penetrating the material.
In this project, special attention was paid to the visual integration into the existing colour scheme. The chosen grey tone of the cabinet corresponds perfectly with the already slightly greyed wooden terrace and the surrounding building materials. This "tone-in-tone" concept ensures that the generous storage space blends discreetly into the overall picture despite its dimensions and supports the tranquillity of the architecture. The clean lines organise the space and give the terrace a tidy appearance. As the material is also completely maintenance-free, the high-quality look is retained for years without regular painting or special care.
