The focus of this design on Lake Sempach was on integrating the colours into an existing garden ensemble. The chosen Corten steel-look decor harmonises perfectly with a sundial made of real Corten steel and the striking stone column in the background. A decisive advantage of the HPL material used over real rusted steel is the cleanliness of the surface: there is no rust runoff on the light-coloured terrace flooring. The warm earth tones of the cabinet fronts also echo the colour of the awning fabric, creating a calm and harmonious atmosphere on the terrace.
To meet the various storage requirements, a combination of a wide sideboard and a narrow tall cabinet was chosen. While the sideboard preserves the lines of sight thanks to its low height and serves as additional storage space, the tall cabinet makes optimum use of the vertical space for long-handled utensils or bulky cushions. Both pieces of furniture organise the space and blend unobtrusively into the architecture thanks to their clean lines. As the material is completely weatherproof and maintenance-free, the high-quality look is retained permanently without the surfaces needing to be re-treated.
