This designer garden shed is located in Zingst, just a few minutes away from the wind, rain and salty air of the Baltic Sea. It is designed precisely for these conditions: as a permanent storage space for furniture, cushions and garden tools that can be left outside all year round. In the coastal climate, weather changes are the norm – sun, rain and strong gusts alternate rapidly. Instead of wood, which requires a lot of maintenance in such a location, HPL is used here, a material from façade construction that has been developed for permanent outdoor use.
The panels do not swell, do not absorb water and are UV-resistant. Even if the garden shed is exposed to the weather, there is no need to reapply glazes or paint. The shed remains dimensionally stable, the interior stays dry and the whole thing functions as a reliable technical and storage space in the coastal garden.
The surface features the Empire Slate decor. The slightly iridescent grey and brown tones and fine flecks not only look lively, they are also practical: salt stains, splashes, pollen or dust from the path are much less noticeable on this decor than on a smooth, single-colour surface. This is a real advantage, especially in an environment with a lot of wind and airborne dust.
The combination of an HPL base and Empire Slate surface creates a designer garden shed that can cope well with the harsher climate of the Baltic Sea, remains low-maintenance and blends in harmoniously with the garden, natural stone, wood and greenery.
