The combination of a spacious garden shed and an adjoining wood storage area requires a well-thought-out design in order to meet different ventilation requirements. While the main building is completely protected from the elements by a special sealing tape and precise façade cladding, the open module allows for constant air circulation. This is technically necessary to efficiently dry stored firewood and prevent moisture damage. Both elements are structurally coordinated in such a way that, despite their different functions, they form a visual unit and have the same high stability.
The choice of exterior material plays a decisive role in the long-term appearance of outdoor areas. The façade panels used in the selected colour offer extremely high UV resistance and colour fastness. In contrast to classic wooden houses, which have to be painted regularly, the surface here remains unchanged for decades without fading or becoming brittle. The material is also extremely impact-resistant and insensitive to temperature fluctuations, which means that the façade elements remain absolutely dimensionally stable even in intense sunlight and do not form stress cracks. Should damage occur, the affected façade panel can be replaced without any visible difference in colour compared to the existing panel. This case study illustrates how important it is to use high-quality materials from the outset.
