At this point, the property boundary runs diagonally past the house wall – at the same time, it is the only access from the courtyard to the garden. A standard garden shed at a right angle would either have blocked the passageway or created an unused corner. Instead, a garden shed with a passageway was created that adapts to the property boundary.
Both the street/courtyard side and the garden side can be used: bicycles can be loaded and unloaded on the courtyard side, while garden tools and lawnmowers are easily accessible on the garden side. This means that the passage to the garden is not obstructed, but integrated into the design.
The garden shed is not a standard rectangular solution, but is designed to fit the sloping boundary exactly. This allows the entire depth to be used without creating a "dead corner" where leaves and dirt would later accumulate. Instead of wasted space, the custom-made design creates continuous storage space.
The medium grey HPL finish is visually unobtrusive and blends in with the situation between the house and the fence. The bottom line is a solution that maintains access from the courtyard to the garden, takes advantage of the special shape of the property and consistently converts the available space into storage space.
