A stable foundation is the most important prerequisite for construction. For this project, a floor slab was created with a maximum height difference of only five centimetres and ideally matching the exact size of the garden shed. This is particularly important in heavy rain, as the water runs down the façade and can seep directly into the ground. As the foundation is no larger than the building itself, no standing water can collect on the slab and no additional slope away from the house needs to be planned.
Important technical precautions have already been taken in the foundation, as can be seen from the pre-installed waste water pipe. The drainage from the roof is fed directly into this pipe, which is flush with the ground. This creates a clean look with no visible external supply lines. An empty conduit for the electrical cables has also been placed in the immediate vicinity of a wall. The open interior construction allows the cables to be flexibly routed so that light switches and sockets can be efficiently screwed directly onto the wood.
